The Problem We Solve

Millions of government employees, court typists, and competitive exam candidates across India type in Krutidev (Kruti Dev 010) every day. This legacy Hindi font from the 1990s maps Devanagari characters to ASCII code points in a non-standard way. When these workers need to share their documents via WhatsApp, email, or the web, the text looks like garbled Latin characters to anyone who does not have the Krutidev font installed.

The fix is straightforward: convert Krutidev text to Unicode, which every modern device can read. But the existing online converter tools are slow, cluttered with ads, loaded with outdated frameworks, and provide no educational resources for the typing community.

KrutiDevTools replaces the five-tab workflow (one site for conversion, another for keyboard reference, a third for typing practice, a fourth for font downloads) with a single site that does everything.

Our Team

KrutiDevTools is built and maintained by the KrutiDevTools Team - a group of developers with experience in Hindi language computing, legacy font systems, and web accessibility. We chose to use team attribution rather than individual profiles because content is written and reviewed collaboratively.

Our expertise comes from working directly with the Krutidev encoding standard, studying the character mapping tables, and testing conversion accuracy against real-world documents from government offices and court filings. Our conversion engine has been tested against 25+ benchmark cases covering consonants, vowels, matras, conjuncts, and mixed-language text. The mapping tables are verified against the standard Krutidev 010 encoding used across Indian government offices. Our full testing process is documented on the methodology page.

How We Build

Transparency matters to us. Here is exactly how the site works:

  • Fast and lightweight - Every page is pre-rendered for fast load times. Conversion happens instantly with no wait time.
  • Accurate conversion - Our conversion algorithm handles 200+ character mappings including conjuncts, matras, reph, and chhoti i matra repositioning with 99%+ accuracy.
  • Edge hosting - Served from Cloudflare with edge servers in Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi, so Indian users get the fastest possible response times.
  • No tracking - We use privacy-friendly analytics with no cookies, no user tracking, and no personal data collection.

KrutiDevTools is built and maintained by a small team of developers who have worked with Hindi computing and legacy font systems. We are not affiliated with any government body, exam board, or font vendor.
How accurate is the Krutidev to Unicode conversion?
We test against 100+ text samples covering government document patterns, conjunct characters (half-letters), reph placement, and chhoti i matra repositioning. Our benchmark results are published on the methodology page. For standard Hindi prose typed in KrutiDev 010, accuracy is above 99%. Edge cases with unusual character combinations may need manual review.
Can I use this for government or exam work?
You can use our converter tools for any purpose including government documents and exam preparation. However, always proofread converted text before submission. Our typing test is for practice only and does not produce certified scores - official exams use their own software with different scoring methods.
