Frequently Asked Questions

Mangal keyboard layout kaun sa hai - Remington ya InScript?
Mangal supports BOTH layouts. The layout is not determined by the font - it is determined by the input method (IME) you activate in Windows. When you add Hindi language in Windows Settings, you can choose between "Hindi Traditional" (InScript) and "Hindi Phonetic" keyboard. Some government exams specify which layout to use - check your exam notification.
Is the Mangal Remington layout the same as Krutidev?
Very similar but not identical. Mangal Remington GAIL shares about 90% of key positions with the Krutidev Remington layout. The core consonants and vowels are in the same places. The differences are in special characters, conjuncts, and some matra combinations. A Krutidev typist can switch to Mangal Remington with about 1-2 weeks of adjustment.
Which is easier to learn - Remington GAIL or InScript?
InScript has a logical layout based on the Devanagari alphabet. Remington GAIL is based on typing frequency, like QWERTY for English. InScript is easier to learn from scratch because character groups are organized logically. Remington is faster for experienced typists because high-frequency characters are under the strongest fingers. If you already know Krutidev, go with Remington GAIL.
CPCT exam me Mangal ka kaunsa layout use hota hai?
CPCT (Madhya Pradesh) supports both Krutidev and Mangal. When choosing Mangal, the exam software typically uses the Remington GAIL layout. UPSSSC (Uttar Pradesh) also supports Mangal with Remington GAIL. Check your specific exam notification for the exact layout name.
Can I switch from Krutidev to Mangal?
Yes, and many typists are making this transition. The advantage of Mangal is that your text is Unicode - it works everywhere without conversion. If you know the Krutidev Remington layout, switching to Mangal Remington GAIL takes about 2 weeks of practice. The core key positions are the same. Use our typing test to practice.
