Troubleshooting

Empty copy result: Some PDFs use fonts with custom character encodings that prevent text extraction. Try opening the PDF in Google Chrome (which has a built-in PDF viewer with better text extraction) and copying from there.

Partial conversion: If some characters convert correctly and others remain garbled, the PDF likely uses a mix of fonts (e.g., Krutidev for body text and Chanakya for headings). Convert each section separately using the appropriate converter.

Line breaks and spacing: PDF text extraction often adds extra line breaks and spaces. After conversion, clean up the formatting in Word using Find & Replace (Ctrl+H) to replace double spaces and extra paragraph marks.

Does the conversion preserve formatting from the PDF?

No. Our converter handles text content only. Bold, italic, font size, tables, and layout are not preserved during the Krutidev-to-Unicode conversion. For basic documents (letters, circulars), this is usually acceptable. For complex layouts (forms, tables), you may need to reformat in Word after conversion.

How do I convert a Krutidev Word document to PDF?

Is "Kruti Dev 10", "Kruti Dev 010" and "Kurtidev10" the same font?

They refer to the same font, and all three convert identically here. The official name is Kruti Dev 010; "Kruti Dev 10" drops the leading zero and "Kurtidev10" is a common transposition of the letters. Kruti Dev also ships numbered variants (011, 016, 050 and others) that differ in style but share the same ASCII mapping, so a PDF set in any of them converts the same way.

How do I get a .docx instead of a plain .txt file?

Download the converted text as .txt, then open Word and use File > Open rather than double-clicking the file. Word shows an import dialog: pick "Unicode (UTF-8)" as the encoding so the Hindi renders instead of showing boxes. Then File > Save As and choose Word Document (.docx). Set the body font to Mangal or Nirmala UI before saving, since Word defaults to Calibri and Calibri has no Devanagari glyphs.

Can I convert a Krutidev PDF to Excel?
