Editorial Policy

This document explains how we build, test, and maintain the tools and content on KrutiDevTools. We publish this policy because tool accuracy and content reliability matter when people use our converters for government documents, court filings, and competitive exams.

How We Test Converter Accuracy

Every converter on this site goes through a structured testing process before launch and after any code change:

Test Dataset

We maintain a benchmark of 100+ test cases organized into categories:

• Standard prose - Common Hindi sentences covering all consonants, vowels, and matras
• Conjunct characters - Half-letters (halant), ligatures (ksha, tra, gya, shra), and stacked consonants
• Special positioning - Reph (र्) placement, chhoti i matra (ि) repositioning, chandra bindu
• Punctuation and numbers - Purna viram (।), question marks, brackets, percentage signs, Devanagari numerals
• Government document patterns - Text samples from typical government office Hindi (formal register, legal terminology, administrative vocabulary)
• Edge cases - Mixed Hindi-English text, consecutive matras, empty input, very long text (10,000+ characters)

Testing Process

1. Each test case has a known-correct input and expected output, verified by manual inspection
2. The converter function is run against every test case
3. Output is compared character-by-character against the expected result
4. Any mismatch is flagged for investigation - either the converter has a bug or the test case needs correction
5. Results are published with pass/fail status for each test case

Full benchmark results, including the test dataset and individual pass/fail status, will be available on the benchmark page (coming in Phase 2). The conversion algorithm is documented on the methodology page (coming in Phase 2).

Content Review Process

Every piece of content published on KrutiDevTools goes through review before publication:

• Factual accuracy - Claims about keyboard shortcuts, character codes, and typing methods are verified against the actual Krutidev 010 font mapping tables
• Technical correctness - Instructions for font installation, software configuration, and typing techniques are tested on the specified platforms before publication
• Currency - Content referencing specific software versions (Windows 10/11, MS Word, Chrome) is reviewed when new versions are released
• Clarity - Instructions are written for our primary audience: Hindi-speaking government employees, exam candidates, and students who may not be fluent in English technical terminology

Correction Policy

We take errors seriously. If you find an incorrect character code, a broken converter output, or a factual error in any guide, please report it through our contact page.

Our correction process:

• Converter bugs are investigated within 24 hours and fixed as quickly as possible
• Content errors are corrected and the page's "Last updated" date is changed to reflect the fix
• If a correction changes the meaning or recommendation of a guide, we add a note explaining what changed and why
• We do not silently alter published content without updating the date

Data Sources

The information on this site draws from the following sources:

• Krutidev font mapping tables - The character-to-code mapping embedded in the KrutiDev 010 TrueType font file, which is the definitive reference for the encoding
• Unicode Standard - The Unicode Consortium's Devanagari block specification (U+0900 to U+097F) for the target encoding
• Government exam guidelines - Publicly available CPCT and UPSSSC typing test specifications for exam-specific features
• Operating system documentation - Microsoft, Apple, and Google's official documentation for font installation procedures

Independence

KrutiDevTools is editorially independent. We do not accept payment to feature, recommend, or prioritize any product, service, or font in our content. Our guides and comparisons reflect the team's genuine assessment based on testing and use.

We are not affiliated with any government department, exam board, font vendor, or software company. Mentions of government exams (CPCT, UPSSSC, SSC) and software products (MS Word, Windows, Android) are for informational context only and do not imply endorsement in either direction.

This editorial policy is updated when our processes change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
