Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my typing progress data stored?
Your typing progress is stored on this device only. If you clear your browser data or switch browsers, the history resets. Export your data periodically if you want a backup.
How many test results are saved?
The system stores your last 20 test results. Older results are automatically removed when new ones are added. This keeps the storage footprint small (under 5 KB) while giving you enough history to see meaningful trends.
What WPM improvement rate is realistic?
Most beginners who practice 30 minutes daily see these milestones: 10 WPM in week 1, 15 WPM by week 3, 20 WPM by week 6, 25 WPM by month 3. Progress slows after 25 WPM - reaching 30+ takes deliberate practice on problem characters and sustained focus on accuracy over speed.
Why did my WPM drop compared to last week?
WPM drops are normal and usually mean you are attempting harder passages or focusing more on accuracy. A typist who moves from beginner to intermediate passages will see a temporary 5-8 WPM drop because advanced text has more conjuncts and special characters. The speed recovers within a week as you adapt.
